Activities of the Academic Year 2023-24 (14.3.2024)

On 14^th March 2024, Department of Mathematics, St. Michael’s College celebrated Pi Day in an exceptional manner and the programme was hosted by Dr. Smisha M A. This day is an annual event that celebrates mathematical concepts and achievements behind the symbol of Pi.

The Pi value memorization competition was one of the highlights of the celebration. In this competition, the participants were challenged to memorize and recite as many decimal digits of p as possible within 10 seconds. Ms. Aleena C Antony, 1^st Year B.Sc. Chemistry, Ms. Anna Soji Anthraper, 1^st Year B.Sc. Chemistry, Ms. Anagha Maheedharan, 2^nd Year B.Sc. Chemistry and Mr. Jerin John, 1^st Year B.Sc. Physics bagged 1^st, 2^nd,3^rd and 4^th prizes respectively. Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu S Nair and Vice Principal, Dr. Antony Kuriakose P distributed the prizes and more than 60 students participated in the event.

Activities of the Academic Year 2022-23 (19.12.2022)

National Mathematics Day Celebrations: The Department of Mathematics conducted a full day workshop ‘1729’ on 19.12.2022 in connection with National Mathematics Day. Lecture in the forenoon session was given by Dr. Dilipkumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, University of Kerala and talk in the afternoon session was delivered by Dr. Yogesh Prasad, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara.
