IQAC:

As a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was constituted on 5th September 2004 with the Principa l as the Chairman. The IQAC develops strategies to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution through institutionalizing and internalizing all the quality enhancing and sustaining initiatives. IQAC is an integral part of the institution and works towards the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The key task of the IQAC is to develop a sustainable system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution. In order to achieve these objectives, the college constituted an IQAC as per the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) guideline.

Student Welfare and Support Cell

This cell is constituted for the welfare and support of the students for the teaching learning process. In order to support advanced learners there is a special programme named Scholar Empowerment Programme. Remedial Teaching programme will function to support the teaching learning process for slow learners. Also, various activities of the students will be monitored and supported with the help of this committee.

Science Club

Science Club Activities 2025-26 As part of the STREAM Ecosystem initiative, Samagra Shiksha Kerala, Alappuzha, in collaboration with Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), organized the “KuttiGaveshakaKoottam” Seminar at St. Michael’s College, Cherthala, on 13 February 2026 which was jointly organised by the Science Club of St. Michael’s College, Cherthala. The programme aimed to nurture scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and a research-oriented mindset among school students. A total of 22 BRCs participated in the district-level seminar, with 66 students presenting their research papers on socially relevant themes. The presentations reflected students’ efforts to connect academic learning with real-life community issues. Around 100 members, including parents, teachers, and well-wishers, attended the programme as audience, making the event academically vibrant and socially engaging. The chemistry and physics department students of St. Michael’s College, Cherthala attended the Quantum Centenary Exhibition on 2nd Dec 2025 organized at St. Thomas College, Pala. The visit was conducted as part of promoting scientific awareness and interest in Quantum Physics and Chemistry among students. The exhibition was organized to commemorate one hundred years of the development of Quantum Mechanics, one of the most important branches of modern physics and chemistry. Various models, posters, demonstrations, and interactive sessions were arranged to explain fundamental concepts such as wave-particle duality, quantum computing, and atomic structure. Overall, the visit to the Quantum Century Exhibition was an enriching educational experience for the students of St. Michael’s College, Cherthala. It enhanced their understanding of modern scientific concepts and encouraged curiosity in the field of Quantum Physics and Chemistry. Around 50 students and 2 teachers visit the exhibition. On 24th Nov 2025,the Department of Chemistry, St.Michael’s college, cherthala visited Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram which was highly educational, informative, and inspiring. It helped students understand the importance of science and research in national development. The trip also gave students a chance to experience the atmosphere of a premier research institution. Overall, the visit was a memorable experience that increased students’ interest in science, innovation, and higher education. The students and teachers expressed sincere gratitude to the authorities of IISER TVM for arranging such a valuable and informative program.

Film Club

The Film Club at St Michael's College, Cherthala, is dedicated to bridging the gap between academic literature and the practical world of cinema. It fosters active creation by providing students with a platform to explore their creative potential and develop technical skills in media production and digital storytelling. The club promotes cinema as a vital medium of social and artistic expression through workshops like "CINE CRAFT 1.0" and the production and screening of original student short films. Coordinator: Fr. Liturgy Club

The Liturgy Club at St Michael's College, Cherthala, focuses on customary public rituals for worship (liturgy) and the promotion of art suitable for the Liturgy. The club actively encourages the use of native languages and customs in its practices, supporting the integration of faith with local cultural heritage. This reflects the Church's ongoing role in inculturation and mission within the Indian context. Coodinator: Fr. Titus Augustine
